Terms of Service (The “AI Safety” Snippet)

Last Updated: February 2026

1. AI-Generated Content & Accuracy

Teachilio utilizes advanced artificial intelligence to assist in generating lesson plans, rubrics, and feedback. While we strive for high accuracy:

  • The AI Can Make Mistakes: AI models can occasionally produce incorrect, biased, or “hallucinated” information.

  • You Are The Final Editor: You acknowledge that Teachilio is a drafting tool, not a replacement for your professional judgment. You agree to review, edit, and fact-check all AI-generated content before presenting it to students, parents, or administration.

  • Curriculum Compliance: While we aim to align with standards (e.g., TEKS, Ontario Curriculum), it is your responsibility to verify that the final lesson plan meets your school or district’s specific requirements.

2. User Responsibility

By using Teachilio, you agree that:

  • You Are the Teacher of Record: You retain full responsibility for the grading, instruction, and safety of your classroom. Teachilio is an assistant, not a substitute teacher.

  • Sensitive Topics: You will use professional discretion when using AI to generate content regarding sensitive historical, political, or social topics.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Teachilio (and its founders, employees, and affiliates) shall not be liable for:

  • Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the content generated by the Service.

  • Any consequences resulting from the use of lesson plans, grades, or feedback generated by the Service in a classroom setting.

  • Any disputes with administration, parents, or students arising from the use of materials created on the platform.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Teachilio to:

  • Generate content that is hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit.

  • Upload sensitive student data (like medical records or government IDs) that is not required for the educational function of the tool.

5. Specific Payment & Subscription Terms

5.1. Billing & Automatic Renewal By purchasing a Subscription (e.g., “The Time-Saver” or “The Life-Reclaimer”), you authorize Teachilio to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly or annual basis. Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it.

5.2. Cancellation You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Account Dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that period ends, and you will not be charged for the following cycle.

5.3. Refunds As Teachilio offers a free trial/tier and immediate access to digital tools, we do not offer refunds for partial months or unused subscription periods. If you forget to cancel, we are not obligated to refund the charge, though we may do so at our sole discretion.

5.4. Price Changes We reserve the right to adjust pricing for our service. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice via email before any price change takes effect.

6. Intellectual Property (Who Owns What)

6.1. Your Content You retain full ownership of all lesson plans, rubrics, and notes you create or upload to Teachilio. You grant Teachilio a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and process this content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over your teaching materials.

6.2. Our Platform The Teachilio interface, graphics, code, and “Teachilio” brand are the intellectual property of Teachilio. You agree not to copy, reverse-engineer, or resell our software or design.

7. Termination (The “Ban Hammer”)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice or refund, if you violate these Terms, specifically regarding:

  • Attempting to reverse-engineer or “scrape” our platform.

  • Sharing your account login with other users (account sharing is prohibited).

  • Using the platform for illegal activities or harassment.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be handled exclusively in the courts located in Waterloo Region, Ontario.
