At Teachilio, we believe that privacy is a fundamental right, especially in the classroom. This policy outlines exactly how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two types of information:

• Account Information: Name, email address, and payment information (processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe).

• User Content: The lesson plans, rubrics, student work samples, and notes you upload or generate using our tools.

2. How We Use Your Data (And How We Don’t)

We use your data strictly to provide the Teachilio service—generating lesson plans, grading assistance, and report card comments.

• NO Third-Party AI Training: We utilize enterprise-grade AI APIs that contractually agree not to use your data to train their public models. Your specific student data will not improve the AI for other users.

• NO Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to advertisers or third parties.

3. Student Data Privacy (FERPA & PIPEDA)

We understand the sensitivity of student data.

• Anonymization: We encourage teachers to anonymize student data (e.g., using initials or first names only) before uploading.

• Compliance: Our systems are designed to support compliance with North American privacy standards, including FERPA (USA) and PIPEDA (Canada).

• Data Isolation: Your classroom data is logically isolated. A teacher in Texas cannot see or access data from a teacher in Ontario.

4. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create on Teachilio.

• Export: You can export your lesson plans and marks at any time.

• Deletion: If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our active servers.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (using TLS/SSL) and at rest.

• Access Controls: Access to your account is protected by strict password protocols.

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use simple cookies solely to keep you logged in and to understand which features are most popular so we can improve the app. We do not use “creepy” cross-site tracking cookies.
